Galveston used Havana as its transfer point, and runners turned there especially after the summer of 1864; imports landed at Galveston went by rail to Houston. The Laird-built steamer Lark made four round trips between Galveston and Havana. On May 24, 1865, she became the last Confederate blockade runner to get out of a Southern port.
The line follows the sea lanes between the two ports. It shows the water a ship had to cross, not the course a runner sailed.
