- Nassau, Bahamas
- To
- Charleston, South Carolina
- Years
- 1861-1865
A first-class steamer made the run between Charleston and Nassau in about 48 hours, then took three days to unload, load and recoal. The first runner out of the South reached Nassau from Charleston on December 5, 1861, with 144 bales of cotton. Syren was captured in Charleston harbor on February 18, 1865, the night after she ran in.
The line follows the sea lanes between the two ports. It shows the water a ship had to cross, not the course a runner sailed.
