CSS Tallahassee, the former Bermuda to Wilmington runner Atalanta, entered Halifax Harbour on August 18, 1864, to take on coal and water during a 19-day raid. Neutrality law limited her stay and allowed only enough coal to reach the nearest Confederate port. Short of coal, she returned to Wilmington on August 26.
