S. ISAAC, CAMPBELL AND CO.
The army contractors at 71 Jermyn Street bought, financed and shipped arms, uniforms and leather for Caleb Huse. By February 1863 they had arranged more than a million pounds in supplies. The Confederacy cut ties by mid-1863, and unpaid Confederate debt ruined the firm, which went bankrupt in 1869.

The army contractors at 71 Jermyn Street bought, financed and shipped arms, uniforms and leather for Caleb Huse, who took rooms across the street. By February 1863 they had arranged more than a million pounds in supplies, including £417,262 in small arms and £110,525 in uniforms and clothing.
The Confederacy cut ties by mid-1863 over double bookkeeping. Unpaid Confederate debt and the fall in cotton bonds after Vicksburg ruined the firm, and it went bankrupt in 1869.
